I think it’s just a function of how stiff the spring is. Yes - I can note some breakout required around zero, but I can’t really call it “sticking”. Or both? Mine still has the stock spring, but if I were to put an extension on it I would probably load a (much) stiffer one. My WH stick is one of the early produced ones, and as I read what people have posted about recent purchases I have a harder time figuring out if mine is actually a different/better example or just “broken in”. Flying a Trainer becomes a real workout after a couple hours, and so to me even a WH stick is nowhere near “too stiff”. I have a lot of time in RL military Trainers that emulate RL control stick forces, and to me ALL gaming sticks are way too light. May as well get the grease and PTFE Friction (rubber O-Ring) replacement too… It seems this alleviates the feeling that the OEM spring is too strong and makes the stick feel perfectly smooth.
